Feel the local life

    It’s a ancient city with long history and culture. It owns the honor of “Suzhou and Hangzhou are paradise on the earth”. Many gardens scatter between the buildings with white walls and black tiles.
    Because falling in love to the exquisite and graceful Suzhou, the people who have been to Suzhou all fall in love to the peace life hiding in old streets and alleys.
    On May 2007, a few young guys who are interested in outdoor games chose a old Suzhou-style local house at first. Then they planted bamboo , spread cyan flagstone on the floor and put soft bine-chair on the corridor.
    Day after day , the alley was full of joy. Some time the old women who live nearby came here to see the new faces everyday. Finally we hanged on our lovely signboard — "Suzhou water town youth hostel".
    Watertown hostel locate on ＃27 Dashitou Lane, Renmin Road, SuZhou.
    It’s said that Shenfu, the writer of “Fusheng siji”(‘Six chapters of a floating life’)in dynasty, lived nearby. In his house ,there is a brick-caved torri caving “enjoy reading all the seasons”,which was awarded Suzhou culture-relic-protecting department in 1963.
It contains Shenfu’s experience during his whole life in‘Six chapters of a floating life’. There is always up and down in his life, but he also enjoy everyday comfortably and quietly , which make others look for such kind of life.
    Maybe we also look for such life style, or maybe we are reminded by the reference of a passage in LiPo’poem, “Our floating life is like a dream; how often can one enjoy oneself”.Whatever, we give our hotel the name “fusheng siji”(floating life in the four seasons.)
Enjoy easy life when time goes by, and get close to the nature. Hope you could hold such kind of feeling when you come to Suzhou in every season..
    Set out from the hostel, you can arrive at Guanqian Street (the business center of Suzhou ) within 5 min. Furthermore, it’s unbelievable convenient to get to other districts from the hostel.
    Meanwhile, you can take the bus from the Railway and Bus stations by no.1,101, 102 or 103 to the “yinmaqiao” bus stop.
No matter which airport you will arrive at in Shanghai, just take the shuttle bus to Suzhou, it will stop at TONGGUANFANG(one block east of the hostel).
    We think a lot of culture communion between different regions, and do a lot of environment protection.
    Save resource and care of environment. Hope friends who come to the hostel could help others on the base of taking care of themselves. Hope because of our efforts, more youth could leave city for the nature, and form the spirit of independence and self-help
Feel the change-life in water town, feel the local life in Suzhou city.
    We are proud of the super-expanse yard in the hostel. You can concentrate on chatting or reading or just sitting with your empty brain.
